Commission FAQ
When commission applies, how it is charged, and what happens when a job is refunded.
When does commission apply?
Commission applies only when a job is completed and the customer approves the work. Quoting, messaging and accepting a job cost nothing — if the job never completes or is cancelled, no commission is charged.
How is commission charged?
The customer's payment is held securely when the job is agreed. Once they approve the completed work, the commission is deducted automatically from that payment and the remaining balance is released to the tradesperson — there is no separate invoice or card charge.
Do refunds change the commission?
Yes. If a job is refunded in full, the commission is reversed in full so nothing is owed. On a partial refund, commission is recalculated against the reduced final job value, so you only ever pay commission on money you actually keep.
How do refunds, cancellations, or partial payments affect commission and payout?
If a job is cancelled before the customer approves the work, no commission is charged and any held payment is returned to the customer. After approval, a full refund reverses the commission entirely and the tradesperson receives no payout. A partial refund reduces the final job value, and commission is recalculated at 20% of that reduced amount — your payout is the reduced job value minus the recalculated commission. Payout status is only marked 'released' once the net amount is settled.
Are there any other fees?
No. There are no subscriptions, lead fees, listing fees or payment-processing add-ons. Commission on approved, completed work is the only charge.

Pricing questions
Everything you need to know about how Tradzigo pricing works.
Is it really free to post a job?
Yes. Homeowners can post jobs, receive quotes, and compare professionals at no cost.
Do tradespeople pay upfront?
No. There are no setup fees, subscription charges, or per-lead costs. A 20% commission is only applied after the customer approves the completed work.
How is the commission calculated?
Tradzigo takes 20% of the final job value once the customer approves the work. For example, on a £500 job, the tradesperson receives £400 after approval.
What happens if a job is cancelled?
If no work is completed and approved, no commission is charged. Any held payment is returned to the customer according to our cancellation policy.
